EVEREST EXPEDITION

MESSAGE FROM LEADER HEW GAMPS ESTABLISHED Prej* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 11. (Received May 12, at 11.35 a.m.) A copyright message from Mr Hugh Ruttledge by wireless to Calcutta states that camp two was established on May 6 on a new site in the main trough of the east Rongbuk glacier, thus avoiding all crevasses. Smythe and Shiptou, the following day, established camp three, also on a new site near the foot of the North Col slopes at a height of 21,500 ft, where the main body has now joined them. The camp, by to-morrow, will be completely stocked with everything required for operations on the mountain. 'Wireless communication has been established with camp one. Smythe Shipton, and Warren yesterday worked out a route more than half way up the North Col. Conditions are fair.
