HOPALONG CASSIDY
RETURNING TO REGENT OH FRIDAY For rapid action, thrills, daring horsemanship, and gun battles in the manner of the great American West, the picture, ' The Eagle’s Brood,’ which will be shown at the Regent on Friday, is claimed to be equal to the best of its kind. The settings are in the high Sierra country where the camera man has plenty of scope but a difficult job, and the bandit gang has no lack of shelter. True to the spirit and colour of the well-known Cassidy yarns, the picture follows the dangerous trail of Hopalong and a few others in the midst of intrigue, eavesdropping, and plots for revenge. William Boyd is the central figure. Quick of eye and hand, powerfully built, a hard rider, and a Hightnirig-like fighter in any hand-to-hand encounter, lie is the hero to his finger-tips, and has the outdoor heroic manner in his sparing use of words. Here he is seen as a peace officer in plain clothes, determined to restore law and order and to wipe out a reign of terror established by a bad gang. His adventures in this direction provide plenty of excitement.
