The London Midland Scottish Railway will inaugurate on Monday the fastest service from London to Glasgow in railway history. The midday Scot will leave Euston at 2 o’clock and reach Glasgow 7h 35min later, completing the 401} miles in an overall average speed of 52.9 miles an hour. Other services will be accelerated as part of the summer programme, which will be started next week.
