SHIPMENT ARRIVES IN LONDON UNDER SUPERVISION OF DANISH EXPERTS Pres* Association—By Telcgraph—Copyrifht LONDON, May 1. A shipment of 2,000 boxes of Japanese butter is non' being marketed in Tooley street. The consignees state that it is some of the finest they have seen. It is selling freely in spite of 15s a hundredweight duty. A is due shortly, and big shipments are contemplated next year under the supervision of Danish experts, who have planned an increased output. Australia House officials arc investigating the probable output, but do not regard it as a serious menace at present. JAPAN BUILDING UP DAIRYING INDUSTRY LONDON, May 3. (Received May 4, at 1.5 p.m.) Discussing the trial shipment of Japanese butter to London, the Melbourne manager of the Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Proprietary stated that Japan was attempting to establish a dairying industry. Imports had been substantially reduced during the last 18 months, and good herds were being built up in the north under Danish experts. The trade in Melbourne, however, did not believe that Japan could become a serious rival on the British market for a long time.
