MADRIGAL CLUB
Well-sung part songs of real charm and popular solos by the best available singers, making entertainment of the most enjoyable kind, is what the Madrigal Club desires to present to the public, and on Monday night, in the Concert Chamber, a programme well in keeping with this aim is to be given. The rise to popularity of this young choir has been most unusual, leading local musicians being unanimous regarding the musical value of this body of young voices, so well balanced, while visitors have been pleased with their interpretative powers. Some of the numbers on the programme are of great interest musically, and it is in letting the public hear the smaller, exquisite works of great writers that much of the value of this choir lies. The Limericks were most popular at the club’s last concert. A specially-ar-ranged now number by the men will be given on Monday night.
