Mr G. R. Ritchie was a passenger by, to-day’s express, being bound for Wellington. • The Otago rowing eight left by the express this morning en route to Wanganui. The manager is Mr J. P. Vallis, who is also stroke of the crew. The coach (Mr H. L. Pritchard) leaves for Wanganui on Thursday. Mr F. M. Oldham and Mrs_ Oldham left by to-day’s express to join the Rangitata at Wellington, en route to England. Mr A. W. Wellsted, commercial manager for the New Zealand Railways, left this morning on his return to Wellington. Mr A., E. Russell (Balclutha) was a passenger by the express to-day on his way to Wellington to attend a meeting of the Dominion Executive of the Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities -Association. Lieutenant-colonel Macaulay, men a social secretary of the Salvation Army for New Zealand, who has been paying a visit to Otago, entrained this morning on his way back to Wellington. Mr W. S. Moorhouse, formerly of the staff of the ‘ Otago Daily Times.’* left this morning to take up the position of editor of the Wairoa ‘ Star,’Hawke’s Bay. Mr W. Herbert, secretary of tba Drivers’ Union, left for Wellington to* day to attend a sitting of the Dominion Conciliation Council to-morrow. Ha will also attend the Labour Party’s annual conference, which commences afc Wellington on Easter Monday. Hon. F. Waite, M.L.C., left for Wellington by the express this morning. Mr W. A. Bodkin, M.P., travelled by this morning’s express on his way to Wellington. Mr Howard W. King, M.A., on the staff of the Gore High has been appointed to a C grade position at the Waimate High School. At a special meeting of the Cromwell Athenaeum held on Friday evening Mr. E. A. Cowey, of Cromwell, was appointed a trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr D. C. BettsDr C. Greenslade has returned from Sydney, where he attended a Medical Conference of the Royal College of Surgeons, Australia. Latest registrations at the Grand Hotel include Mr H. W. S. Miss P. Grimes (Coventry, England )j Mrs Abby White (Sydney), Mr D. F* Moncur, Mr R. G. Button, Mr TV Kelly, Mr A. W. Wellsted (Wellingj* ton), and Mr K. Sutherland (Hinakura).
