EASTER TOURNAMENT CONTEST Four University eight-oar crews will contest the ninth annual contest for the Hebherly Shield, held by Auckland for the past two years, during the interuniversity tournament at Wellington on Saturday afternoon. Hunter. H. Millard, R. W. Kinross White, W. M. Graham, J. 0. Renaut, J. W. Steeds (bow), A. J. C. Nicholson (cox). Wellington: R. P. Hansen (stroke), G. B. Gibbons, K. W. Barnes, G. Milne, H. E. Gough (cox). _ . • Otago has yet to win the rowing shield, which was first presented in 1928, the same year as the inauguration of the interprovincial eight-oar championships. It has been won three times by both Victoria College and Canterbury College, and twice by Auckland College. Otago first competed in 1933, and swamped in its two initial attempts. Last year it rowed third, which position it hopes to better on this occasion. Under the coaching of Messrs F. W. Eggers and W. J. Rennick it has made fine progress, and should be well in the running. It will leave with the remainder of the Otago University team on Thursday morning.

QUEENSTOWN REGATTA OTAGO ROWING CLUB CREWS The Queenstown regatta will also be held _ on Saturday, when the Otago Rowing Club will be represented by the following crews, reading from stroke: — Junior four: R. Grant. W. C. Harper, P. T. Jack, and K. Barclay. Junior double sculls: Grant and Harper. Junior pair; Grant and Barclay. Senior double sculls; Jack and Barclay. Maiden four: A. M. Lysaght. I. W. Love, W, N. Williams, and R. Whitaker. Maiden double sculls; Jack and Lysaght. Maiden pair: Lysaght and Love. QUEEN'S DRIVE REPRESENTATIVES Crews representing the Queen’s Drive Boating Club at the regatta will be: — Youths’ four; J. Densem, J. Treloar, D. Love, and A. Cook. Y T ouths’ double sculls: Treloar and Cook. Youths’ pair: Densem and Treloar. Maiden double sculls and pair: D. Sutherland arid G. Mathewson. No crews will be present from the Port Chalmers or North End Rowing Clubs, but large entries are expected from Southland clubs.
