BOOT AND GILES
INCLUDED IN OLYMPIC TEAM COUNCIL ACCEPTS NOMINATIONS [Per Unitfd Press Assoctattok.] WELLINGTON, April 6. By a large majority the New Zealand Olympic Games Council to-night decided that the nominations of V. 1. Boot and of G. R. Giles, Canterbury be accepted and that they be included in the team for Berlin, provided that the necessary finance was forthcoming from the national associations by April 20. It was felt that the council would not be doing justice to Boot and Giles if their nominations were not accepted, and by adhering to the decision not to accept the late nominations, two men ■with excellent qualifications would be omitted from the team. At a special meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, also held tp-night, the attempts to have political influence exerted upon amateur sports bodies in general, and upon the New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association in particular, were roundly condemned.
