The ‘ Sun’s ’ correspondent has learned that the adoption of the British Government’s London-Australia air mail proposals would involve 'the Commonwealth Government in an annual revenue loss of at least £1,500,000, chiefly postal revenue, due to the elimination of the on letters and a consequential reduction in the Australian letter rate from 2Jd to lid In addition the Government would have to establish elaborate bases for accommodation of the flying boats, the capital cost of which is estimated at ££ooo.ooo.
