(Received March 2, at 10 a.m.) His Majesty paid a surprise visit to All Hallows Church, near the Tower of London. Wearing the uniform of Colonel-m-Chief of the Welsh Guards, he attended the St. David’s Day parade and service. This was also the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Welsh Guards. The crowd outside cheered the King’s arrival. Inside, all of the five hundred seats were occupied by past and present officers and men of the regiment. Many old ex-servicemen wore daffodils and leek emblems. The service ended with the singing of ‘ Land of My Fathers ’ in Welsh, and the National Anthem. ,
