THREE LIVES LOST GAR DRIVER ARRESTED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 1. A motor cyclist was killed and his pillion rider was fatally injured when their machine collided with a motor car being driven out of Wellington about 300 yards on the city side of Ngaio Gorge road at about 7.35 p.m. on Saturday. The driver of the motor car, William M'lieynolds, was later arrested by the police, and it is understood he will be charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day under the Motor Vehicles Act. , The victims were : Charles Bradshaw, aged '2l, grocer's assistant, of Patea, a fracture of the skull, fractured jaw, broken nose, a fractured right leg, broken ankle, and severe abrasions, killed. Ernest Marsden, aged 43, a painter and decorator, of 40 Britannia, street, Petone, married, with four children, a fractured spine and fractured right leg, fatally injured. Bradshaw was dead when he was pulled clear of the wreckage of his motor cycle, and Marsden, who was taken to the Wellington Hospital by some passers-by, died at about 8 o'clock this morning. It is stated that Bradshaw, whose parents live at Btratford, had been staying with Mr Marsden, an uncle, and that the two left Petone shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday to go to the speedway racing at the Kilbirme Stadium. The motor cycle collided with the motor car soon after passing Ngaio Gorge road. Marsden was thrown clear, but Bradshaw was pushed along with his motor cycle by the car until it stopped close to the side of the western side of the road. The cyclist was jammed against the bank by the front left mudguard and the wheel of the car. He was pulled clear of' his cycle by some passers-by. He was stated to be shockingly injured and was beyond assistance. The left-hand mudguard of the car was deeply dented and the bumper bar and radiator bent back. The motor cycle's front wheel was crushed right back into the engine, which was partially smashed and the handle bars twisted out of shape. The police arrived soon after Bradshaw had been extricated, and arrested M'Reynolds, who was not injured. A passenger in the car also escaped without injury. FATHER KILLED WIFE, SON, AND DAUGHTER INJURED [Pkb United Press Association.] NELSON, March 1. A fatal motor collision occurred on the main Applepy road at the cheese factory corner early on Saturday evening as the result of which Percy Campbell Park Morris was killed, and his wife suffered concussion, abrasions, and shook. Her condition is not serious. Percy Morris, a son, aged 16, suffered a severe fracture of the left shoulder, concussion, and shock, and his condition is serious. Trace Morris, a daughter, aged 11, received a fracture of the right.leg, contusion of the lower jaw, aorasions, and shock. The sufferers were all removed to hospital. The occupants of the other car were not seriously hurt.
