Sir Samuel Hoare on the Ice.— The famous English statesman is an enthusiastic figure skater. He indulges in this sport on every occasion which frees him from political duties. When in London he can be seen at the Palladium artificial rink, and when abroad it is on one of Switzerland’s frozen lakes that he is a well-known figure. It was whilst skating in Switzerland that Sir Samuel broke his nose just prior to the unsuccessful Peace Plan. The picture shows him back in this country with Lady Hoare, no longer carrying the weighty burdens of Foreign Affairs.
