DUNEDIN GUN CLUB

The annual match for the “ Leeto ” Cup was held on Saturday at the Dunedin Gun Club’s grounds, Green Island, under good weather conditions. Niue novices competed, and some excellent shooting was witnessed. - The shoot was for 12 birds, all competitors to start from the limit (llyds) and go back one yard every break and forward one yard for every miss. Mr C. Williams, who Won the cup, finished up shooting from 21yds and broke 11 birds out of 12, a very good performance for a novice at trap-shooting. D. Cooksou and H. Weir tied for second place, with nine breaks each. At the conclusion of the match the president (Mr G. ETurner) presented a miniature cup to the winner and complimented him on his splendid performance. The next shoot was a 12-bird sweepstake, which provided a good exhibition of shooting. Mr C. Williams again distinguished himself by making a possible m this match, the scores, with handicaps, being as follows C. Williams (12yds) 12, Dr Greenslade (llyds) 12, J. B. Craigie (llyds) 12, S. F. Aburn (14yds) 11, J. K. Begg (13yds) 11, M. Greenslade (12vds) 11, G. E. Turner (19yds) 10, R. M'Donald (19yds) 10, 1. Styche (llyds) 10. The last match was a three pair double rise quail drive, in which S. F. Aburn and R. M'Donald tied with five breaks each. .
