SOCIAL CREDIT REGULATIONS BILL TO BE INTRODUCED. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright EDMONTON, February 10. ' The Provincial Secretary (Mr Manning) states that a Bill will be introduced this session to enable the Cabinet to establish Social _ Credit regulations by proclamation without reference to the Legislature. Ho declines to reveal the terms of the measure. MAJOR DOUGLAS'S ALLEGED REMARKS SPECIAL COMMITTEE TO INQUIRE EDMONTON, February 11. (Received February 12, at 10 a.m.) On the demands of the Liberal Leader, Mr Howson, and the Conservative Leader, Mr Duggan, a special committee of the Legislature will probe the alleged London remarks of Major Douglas, which they declared to be offensive to both the Canadian and Alberta Governments. Regarding the proposed Dominion Loan Council, it is alleged he stated; “ If the provinces allow remaining autonomies in regard to the most important factor of their constitution —their finances—to be filched away from them [ have little doubt that democracy is doomed.”
