(Received February 12, at 10 a.m.) On the demands of the Liberal Leader, Mr Howson, and the Conservative Leader, Mr Duggan, a special committee of the Legislature will probe the alleged London remarks of Major Douglas, which they declared to be offensive to both the Canadian and Alberta Governments. Regarding the proposed Dominion Loan Council, it is alleged he stated; “ If the provinces allow remaining autonomies in regard to the most important factor of their constitution —their finances—to be filched away from them [ have little doubt that democracy is doomed.”
