On instructions from his Government, the United States Charge D’Affairs has assured the Foreign Secretary of the sincere gratitude of his Government for the efforts of His Majesty’s Governments in the United Kingdom, in the Commonwealth of Australia, and in New Zealand on behalf of the lost American explorers. Mr Lincoln Ellsworth and Mr Hollick Kenyon. The Charge D’Affairs and the effective work of those on board the Discovery H. was deeply appreciated in tho United States. The generous assistance given the airmen by the British Grahamland Expedition was similarly acknowledged. The Discovery 11. is expected at Melbourne on Friday. She will resume her scientific work after leaving Melbourne on or about March 2. DISCOVERY EXPECTED ON MONDAY. MELBOURNE, February 12.
