BRIGHT REVUE
THE GAIETIES’ COMPANY That the Stanley M'Kay’s Gaieties’ Company has lost none of its popularity with Dunedin audiences was evidenced by the enthusiasm at the final presentation of ‘ Fresh Faces ’ last night. The company has secured the services of many new artists, and with a completely different programme, which offered plenty of music and comedy, bright sparkling entertainment was provided. The second of the company’s series of revues, ‘ Life Begins at Eight,’ will bo produced here for the first time tonight. There will be some very original and amusing sketches, including ‘Who Died First?’ with Ike Delavale and Maggie Buckley as the impecunious husband and wife, and Wyn Edgerton and George Corelli as their softhearted friends, and * The Way to the Post Office,’ in which Mr Delavale, Miss Buckley, and George Corelli appear. The Gaieties’ musical trio will make its first appearance to-night. This item was one of the successes of the Christchurch season, and should be well received here. Another enjoyable turn will be the comedy duet * An Earful of Music.’ Russell Callow will feature fresh songs, and Wyn Edgerton will sing ‘ Sweet Mystery of Life ’ and ‘ A Heart that’s Free.’ The Alexanwhose acrobatic act is one of the successes of the productions, will introduce a difficult hand balancing act, and adagio dancers Patricia and Colin will present 1 Blush of Morn.’ Reno’s dogs, as usual, will be one of the most popular items on the bill. The Gaieties will hold a ball at the Early Settlers’ Hall to-night, when dancing will begin at 8 o’clock, and the company will attend after the performance.
