LOSS OF LIFE IN INDIA SEARCH PARTIES' SACRIFICE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 31. The ‘ News-Ehronicle’s ’ Calcutta correspondent says five Europeans and 200 Indians are reported to have perished in an underground fire in Loyahad colliery at Jharia Bihar, including three rescue parties. The first sign of the disaster was when flames burst from the two pitheads. Senior British officials immediately went down to investigate and never returned. A search party met a similar fate, but undaunted, a third group went down and did not return. The fire is still blazing.
