OBITUARY

MRS M. J. HARVEY On Sunday there passed away at 41 Meadow street, Mornington, in her seventy-fourth year, -Mrs Mary Jane Harvey, who served the city nobly in a quiet and retiring way. . Arriving in the City of Sparta in 1879 .with her parents, Mr and Mrs Thomas Lee, of the- Peninsula and later of the Taieri and Goodwood, she married in 1880 Mr George Harvey, of Mornington, who predeceased her, and has resided there over since. A: prominent, member of the Methodist church, she was not only devoted to her religious duties, but was a generous giver to all.social and philanthropic • causes in the city. She leaves, two sons —Thomas (Mornington)-, and Georg© (Marton) —and three daughters—Mrs E. Clarke (Kaikorai), Mrs- Carlton Hall (Mornington), and Mrs E. Laidlaw (Hawera).
