IMPORTATION OF PEDIGREE STOCK Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, January 9. Plans to encourage the importation of pedigree stock from Britain to improve Australian herds have been announced by the Department of Commerce. Assistance will take the form of a contribution towards the expenses of importing pedigree cattle, sheep, goats, and swine, but no assistance will be given in respect to the cost of the animals themselves. The shipping companies agreed to make certain concessions in regard to freight.
