INCREASE IN STAKES The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club, held yesterday, was attended by Me ssi-s L. C. Hazlett (chairman), F. Tyson, W. J. Goughian, A. N. Smith, W. F. Edmond, C. N. Draper, J. A. Mathewson, W. Garrett, L. Potter, J. A. Cook, Dr Ross, and D. Batchelor. A receipts and expenses statement of the recent summer meeting was placed before the members, and gratification was expressed at the profit made. The programme for the autumn meeting as drafted by the Programme Committee, was considered, and it was resolved to increase the stakes from £3,255 to £3,7.40, in increase of £485. The following Judicial Committee was appointed for the Autumn Meeting:—Messrs Hanlon, Irwin, Tyson, Garrett, and Dr Ross. . It was resolved that the admission charges be as follow: —Lawn 6s, outside Is 6d, Jadies 2s 6d. It was resolved to start the first race at 12.45, and the last race at 5.11. The new type of barrier as tried at the Spring and Summer Meetings having proved, satisfactory, it was resolved to purchase it for the autumn meeting, • It was resolved to make the necessary repairs to the south stand and the outside stand immediately after the Cup meeting. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. were granted the use of the course for a sale of thoroughbreds on 1 the offday of the Cup meeting. Four new members were elected.
