CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT RECORD ENTRY FOR SOUTH ISLAND [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 6. The New Zealand bowling championships opened this morning. The entry is a record for the South Island, and 21 city and suburban greens are in use. Though a light misty rain fell before 9 o’clock the greens need only a little sun to liven them up. Sectional play in the singles began this morning.
