There is a good prospect of a relatively dry week-end throughout Britain, which should allow the floods to subside. The waters further receded in the upper reaches of the Thames yesi terday, and it is believed that the flooding of the river generally reached the ‘ peak last night. A general abatement may now be looked for below Windsor. The floods spread yesterday, and the greater part of the private grounds' of Windsor Castle adjoining the river was under water last night. St. Peter’s Church at old Windsor is flooded, and to-morrow’s services are, being held in the mission chapel nearby. Many roads in the lower Thames Valley were still under water this morning. ’
