COMEDY AND MYSTERY DRAMA
CAPITAL FARE FOR OCTAGON A' most baffling and ingenious plot is unfolded in the outstanding mystery drama ‘ The Crime of Helen Stanley,’ which heads the new programme for the Octagon on Friday. The story is set against the background of a Hollywood film studio and there are some interesting sidelights on the production of pictures. The plot concerns the strange murder of an actress during the taking of a scene. The leading roles are filled by Ralph Bellamy and Shirley Grey. ‘ Lady by Choice,’ a stirring comedy-drama, which should make wide appeal through its very human story, will be the other feature. The principal roles are taken by Carole Lombard-, as a dancer, and the everpopular May Robson, who plays the part of a drunken old woman whom the daiicer adopts as her mother. The story of their lives together and of the “ daughter’s ” romance witli a lawyer makes fascinating entertainment, and is lightened by a certain amount of brilliant humour. Others in the cast arc Roger Pryor and,Walter Connolly.
