DOUGLAS HOTEL LEASE. The lease of allotment 1 of section 33, block 17, Dunedin City Corporation property, containing 12 poles, with 43ft 6in frontage to Octagon and 60ft 4in to George street, was submitted to auction to-day by Messrs Park, Reynolds Ltd. The upset rental was fixed at £271 10s, and valuation to be paid for improvements £4,158. Bidding started at the upset, and .rose steadily by £lO bids and then by ’£s bids until £4lO was reached, and at this rental the* lease was knocked down to Mr James Geddes. NEW MINERAL AREA. A Wellington Association message states that Mount Morgan Developments Limited has taken an option over a property covered by prospecting license 287, Fiji, and is proceeding further to prospect and to commence development of the area.
