FAIR AND WARMER The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern district Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—< A _ depression, but of no great intensity, is advancing across the Tasman Sea, and pressure is rising over Eastern Australia. ANOTHER HOT, SUNNY DAY. Indifferent- weather again seemed assured early to-day, ■ when strong, chill winds sent heavy clouds scudding across the face of the sun and making conditions altogether Unpleasant. But later the clouds gave indication, of dispersing, as the- wind moderated and, backed round to the west. The sun’s -heat began to dominate, gladdening the hearts of city folk, particularly sportsmen and week-enders, for . the, noonday indications were all for fine weather ahead—all, that is, except the barometer, - which had a descending tendency at 29.6 in, three points lower than yesterday. The thermometer rose from 50.8 deg last night to 55deg'this morning, and 69deg at noon, compared with the same maximum temperature for the whole of yesterday.' ■ •
