FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Woodland’s Pride was held on Alonday in the court room, Harrop street. The Chief Ranger, Sister M. Robinson, presided. She was supported by a full staff of officers and a fair attendance of members. The report of the woodwards indicated that only 13 members were at present on sick pay—one having resumed her occupation during the week. An invitation was received from Court Pride of Dunedin to its final social and dance for the year on Alonday, at the Alanchester Unity Hall, Stuart street, a good number signifying their intention to attend. A letter from the district executive intimating that a special district meeting would be held on Wednesday, the 27th, was received, the purpose of the meeting being to deal with business in connection -with the finance of the order. Sister M. Watt was appointed from the court’s delegates as the representative. The secretary repox-ted having secured the Returned Soldiers’ club room for the annual reunion of all courts on the evening of December 2, to which all courts and the district executive would be invited. All arrangements in connection with the function were completed, and all members present were instructed by the Chief Ranger to notify all sisters met during the fortnight. The court also granted permission to the sisters to bring a friend or partner oil payment of Is. The Chief Ranger, assisted by her officers, carried out the initiation of a new member in impressive, style, the candidate being welcomed with the Foresters’ toast. One candidate was proposed for membership, the secretary being instructed to arrange examination and attendance. ’
