AMATEUR WRESTLING.
,TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I was amused as well as surprised to see that “ Interested ” rushes into print on a subject that he apparently knows very little about. In the first place, although the local championships- were held about three months ago, the C. J. Thorne memorial bolt was only presented to the holder a fortnight ago. In the second place, it is very hard to got hoys matched about the same weight, even in their own particular wrestling schools, and Lcs Small has had to give away up to a stone and a-ha!f in weight in nearly all of his matches. The only occasion on which he met one of Mr Baldock’s pupils was at the Otago championships this year, when Small won by two straight falls. I personally have a great deal of admiration for the .Anderson brothers, and also for Mr Baldock, and perhaps “ Interested ” would be more surprised to know that Les Small is learning wrestling at the Anderson School and body building at the Baldock School, which hardly shows a tendency to jealousy on the part ol the principals at least, though that may not bo so in the case of “ Interested.” I am, etc.. More Interested. November 22.
