BOYS' CAMP AT WEAK FLAT
Attention is drawn in the advertising column to the Y.M.C.A. Boys Camp. There are few boys to whom the prospect of spending a few weeks in camp would not occasion a sense of keen anticipation. There are some 300 boys,in Dunedin to-day who arc faced with such a bright prospect through the enterprise of the Y.M.C.A., which is ‘conducting a camp at Wharc Flat during the summer* holidays. The camping ground is set amid ideal surroundings on the banks of the Silverstream. The camp will be under the personal supervision of Mr G. R. Pitkethley, boys’ work director of the Y.M.C.A.. whose long experience In that direction is a guarantee of the best management and control. He will be assisted by Mr A. Williams, and a capable camp mother will prepare meals. The camp will be open during the summer school holidays to boys from all sections of the community from 10 to 17 years of age. All sports are provided for and swimming will be conducted under supervision at specified times. Concerts will be held and it is the aim of the promoters to bring out tho spirit of camp life in every way. Boys delight in tales told round log fires, all-day trips, bush rambles, cricket and football matches, mystery yarns, athletic contests, eel and rabbit catching, overnight camps, sing-songs, swimming, mountain tramps, concerts, and worth-while talks of days ahead. The Y.M.C.A. conducts the camp and circulars may he obtained on application to the general secretary or boys’ ■work director, Y.M.C.A.
