COLLEGE GARDEN PARTY
Amidst what is considered to be one of Otago’s most beautiful stretches of native bush, a garden party will be held at Glen Leith College to-morrow afternoon. The spacious grounds are at their best, with bush walks, flowering trees, ferns, miniature lake and waterfall. There are unusual botanical specimens, including the only large kauri in the South Island. The spot is well worth a visit, apart from any other attractions; but on Saturday there will be novel entertainments of all kinds, side-shows, stalls offering goods that have been donated from many parts of New Zealand, and an amplified programme of popular music. The stalls will be in charge of ladies from various churches in the city and suburbs. Tea rooms and refreshment rooms “will also be in operation. Amongst tlfe new features this year will be a miniature golf course, overhead quoits, balloon spearing, children’s fish fond, and naildriving competition. Children with parents will oe admitted free, alone 3d, and adults charged fid. A special service of buses will run continuously from Duke street to the college gates, commencing at 1.30.
