TWO EXCITING FEATURES FOR STRAND Stealing through Chinatown’s eerie shadows and mysterious alleyways goes tho spirit of adventure and thrills, and the stern battle between the lawbreaker and the police is vividly told in ‘ Chinatown Squad,’ which is coscreening with ‘ We’re in the Money,’ coming to-morrow to the Strand. All sorts of queer happenings occur in San Francisco’s Chinatown and the story tells of murder and intrigue in this shadowy underworld, the rehabilitation of a dismissed policeman, and the love of this man and a white girl. This is a mystery film of the highest quality. The stars are Lyle Talbot, Valerie Hobson, and Hugh O’Donnell. Three highly popular stars, Joan Blondell, Glenda Farrell, and Hugh Herbert have the leading roles in ‘ Were in the Money.’ The picture concerns the efforts of two. underhand girls, Joan and Glenda, to serve subpoenas on wealthy men in breach of promise suits. Never lias Miss Blondell been more radiant or more beautiful, she bubbles over with spontaneous good spirits. Miss Farrell is tho same witty Glenda, .although she seems even to outdo her excellent performances. Ross Alexander is excellent in his role of a rich young man. _ The picture is a riotous, fast-moving comedy, with tense dramatic moments and a stirring romance.
