AMATEUR WRESTLING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Although not surprised, I am rather amused to note that the boys attending Mr Frank Anderson’s wrestling classes get much more praise and publication that do the boys under Mr Harry Baldock. As Mr Anderson is a member of tho local association, it seems likely that jealousy is the cause for this. A great fuss is created by one of Mr Anderson’s pupils being awarded a prize for being the most scientific wrestler in Otago, and in tonight’s ‘ Star ’ his photograph is shown, although it is now nearly three months ago since the championships were held in Dunedin. May I ask, has the holder of this title (Les Small) ever met and defeated a pupil of the Baldock Institute? In nearly every instance boys of the same school are matched, which. To tho writer, seems a mistake, and it would be interesting to match Small against a boy from another school under a mutual referee. — I am, etc., Interested. November 20,
