A total of 176 applications have been received for admission to the Auckland Training College, but as many of these will probably not be eligible, it is expected that the college will not have its full quota—namely, 175. “We don’t want to admit immature students to the college,” said the chairman, Mr T. U. Wells, at the Education Board meeting this morning when commenting on a memorandum from the department advising that applicants under 17 years would be ineligible for admission.
