WEATHER FORECAST
FAIR AND MILD The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* ern district—Dunedin, Port Chalreera, Tapanui, Wintou, Invercargill. Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— An* anti-cyclone still covers the Dominion, and is moving gradually eastward. A series of depressions has continued to pass to the north of New Zealand. Forecast: Light to moderate north-east winds, freshening shortly. Weather fair and mild, but cloud increasing. Seas moderate. ELEVENTH FINE DAY. Fair weather continued to favour Dunedin throughout the week-end. Over seven hours’ sunshine was experienced during each day on Saturday and Sunday, while both nights were clear, but severely cold." Yesterday there was a moderate southerly wind, which led many, to expect a sudden change in the fine spell, but a heavy frost (the sixteenth so far this year) of sdeg ensured l a continuation of settled weather and sunshine to-day. It was the eleventh successive fine day, and at noon the barometer was steady at 30.2 in. It was'also calm, and the temperature was 45.6 deg, the lowest recording for the morning being 35.5 deg. The .respective maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday, were 54.8 deg and 40.2 deg, and on Supday 50deg and 31.8 deg,' no frost being recorded during either period.
