Aldermen Hagen and Jackson tendered their resignations. No reasons were stated. Interviewed later, Aiderman Hagen said things had not been running smoothly, and great difficulty had been experienced in keeping the Civic Reform Party aldermen together.

[A message received on June 18 stated that Aldermen J. Jackson and R. Hagen, members of the Civic Reform Party, announced their intention of resigning as aldermen of the City' Council. They offered no explanation, but the resignations are interpreted as a sequel to party schisms.]
