UNUSUAL COLLISION
Two Royal Air Force men were killed in a remarkable accident at Mosul, Irak, while carrying out flying exercises in conjunction with vehicles on the ground. They were: _ Flightlieutenant Henry Spear Sandiford, a Londoner, - and Aircraftsman John Gilbert Plevey, a Lancashire man. They went up in a Wapiti machine, of No. 30 (Bomber) Squadron, Flight-lieu-tenant Sandifml being the pilot. The machine was swooping low over Mosul Musketry Range, when a wingtip struck an armoured car of No. 1 Armoured Car Company. Tho impact hurled the aeroplane round, and it then collided with a second armoured car. Leading Aircraftsman Jack Woledge Rogers, a passenger in the aeroplane, was badly hurt, and Leading Aircraftsman Harold .Gilbert Keattch, who was in an armoured car, received slight injuries.
