[From Our Correspondent.] BALCLUTHA, June 30. POULTRY SHOW. Competition Winners.—Cake: Messrs Hone Anderson (Stirling) and Rix (Dunedin). Sheep: S. Bisset (Kaitangata). Coal: T. A. Falconer (Balclutha). GUN CLUB. The South Otago Gun Club held a shoot on Saturday. Results:—Sparrow match; W. Elliott; J. Stiven, and G. Sinclair all secured six birds, and in the shoot-off the awards were as above. W. Mason and P. Craig shot five birds, C. Thomson and D. Campbell W. Morland (Dunedin) and W( Dippie two. In the 15-bird match W. Elliot, with tho possible, was first, R. Arbuthnott (14) 2, and J. Stiven (13) 3. Others competing were: W. Dippie, D. Campbell (12), C. M'Kenzie, W. Mason, C. Thomson 11, Dr Radcliffe 10, P. Craig 10. W. Morland R. COURSING. The weather for the South Otago Coursing Club meeting was anything but favourable. The Telford Memorial Cup, with £ls attached, resulted:— Dowling’s (Southland) Native Chief was defeated by Gold’s (Balclutba) Black Hawk. Latimer’s (Oamaru) Miss Mannequin beat J. Webb’s (Oamaru) Happy Nancy. Muir and Ruddy’s (Christchurch) Lead On beat Gold’s She’s a Bird. G. Reid’s (Stirling) Gay Fashion beat Smart’s (Oamaru) Wilgs White. J. M'Grath’s (Oamaru) Why Worry Again beat Frew’s (Mosgiel) Last Choice. F. Thompson’s (Kaitangata) Betty’s Joy beat Richard’s (Oamaru) Don Rosa. Richard’s Double Escape heat Reid’s Checkers. Reenie’s (Oamaru) Electric Alma beat Thompson’s Black Hawk. Gladys Sinclair’s (Paretai) Homedale beat Duncan and M'Donnell’s (Stirling) Lady Diana. M'Grath’s Terminus Lass beat Reenie’s Even Lad. Benson’s Satin Boy ran a bye. —Second Round.— Black Hawk beat Miss Mannequin. Lead On beat Gay Fashion. Why Worry heat Betty’s Joy. Double Escape beat Electric Alma.- Satin Boy beat Homedale.” Terminus Lass a bye. —Third Round.— Black Hawk beat Lead On. Why Worry Again beat Double Escape. Terminus, Lass beat Satin Boy. —Fourth Round.— Black Hawk beat Terminus Lass. Why Worry Again a bye. J. M'Grath's Terminus Lass and Why Worry Again divided stake. The limit stake was unfinished:—J. Webb’s (Oamaru) Ding Dong beat M. Low’s _ (Balclutba) Gay Rose. Gladys Sinclair’s.Meryle’s Pride beat C. Mark’s (Dunedin) Greyhound’s Image. Reenie’s King beat Richard’s Highland March. Gold’s What a Lark beat Reenie’s Purple King. Benson’s Royal Fleet beat Mark’s Don’t Worry. The stake was divided between the winners in the first round.
Mr C. Price (Dunedin) was judge and Mr G. Sinclair slipper.
. On Friday night the visitors and members were entertained at an enjoyable social gathering.
