Drenching rain did not prevent 500,000 people from lining the streets and watching the dignitaries assemble at the cathedral for Marshal Pilsudski’s funeral Mass A special guard attended tho King’s representative (the Earl of Cavan). Tho mourners included M. Laval, Marshal Retain, and General Goering. The sun shone as the cortege later went to Mokotow field for a final parade. The city, which was at a standstill, resounded with marchin" troops and the clatter of cavalry. The body was entrained for interment at Waiwel Castle, Cracow.
