BIG WRESTLING ATTRACTION
KRUSKAMP V. NARBERES The Dunedin wrestling season will open on Monday night with the eightround professional contest between Hardy Kruskamp and Leo Narberes, two of the most promising heavyweights in the game at the present time, the match being set down for the Town Hall. 'When these men met in Wellington recently, tiic critics classed it as one of the most spectacular and clever exhibitions seen there for a long tiino, and as an exponent of straight wrestling Narberes is reputed to be in the highest class, A pupil of Ad Santfel, the famous American wrestler now promoting in Oakland, Narberes is a past master of the short-atm Scissors and the Japanese loglOck, one of the most punishing holds in wrestling. He has had over 300 contests in his 3J years in prp-. fessional ranks, meeting such men fta Dean Detton, Dr Fred Meyer, Stanley Pinto, and Dr Leu Hall. Kruskamp will have an advantage of about half a stone in weight, weighing 15.1, but for a big man lie is one of the fastest movers in the game, and one who is said to bo in line for matches with the topliners when he returns to the States. As a track runner, ho met with many successes in the States, and has been credited with lOsec for 100 yards. Ho was also a footballer of note, and this may’ account for tho fact that ho is an adept in tho use of the flying tackle, flying scissors, and tho spectacular dropkick. Narberes and Kruskamp can be depended on to provide plenty of action and a first-class exposition of wrestling, and as the amateur schools have been operating for some time the preliminaries to the big bout should be well worth watching. The particulars are advertised.
