Social Committee, thanking the public for patronage, and various business firms for 'their assistance in making the dance held last evening in the Trades Hall a success, announces that it. will continue running this social function every Friday evening. Mr J. Spence made a very efficient M.C., and dances were arranged to suit both young and old. The winners of the Monte Carlo and the lucky spot were Miss Keen and Mr Silva, and Miss Keen and Mr Smith. Music Was supplied by the Harmony Boys’ Orchestra, and was enjoyed by all present. Thanks are accorded to the undermentioned for donations:—Wright and Co., Anderson and Co., Self Help, Wardells, Banquet Tea Co., Fort, Roche, and Co., T. and P. Dairy, . Marguerite (cakes), Jays (cakes), and the Ritz (sandwiches). ADMITTANCE TO CELEBRITY CONCERT A limited number of unemployed will be admitted to the celebrity concert in the .Town Hall to-night (on production of their books)- as guests of the mayor and .the New Zealand Broadcasting Board. NO. 4 DISTRICT DANCE The dance controlled by the Social Committee of the No. 4 district will pi-ovide patrons this evening with a great deal of enjoyment. The Triumph Band will play a selection of old and new favourites, which are at all times welcome. Included on the programme will be the popular Monte Carlos,! Last Thursday the Monte Carlo winners were Miss Thom and Mr Wilson and Miss Parker and Mr Johns.' Last Saturday’s winners were Mr and Mrs Brown and Miss Taylor and Mr Loipbardi. A special dance will be held by the committee on June 3 (the King’s birthday). Special announcements will be made in the amusement advertisements in this paper. A conveyance will leave the hall this evening for town at 11.55.
