SNOW IN ENGLAND
SPURTS INTERFERED WITH CRICKETERS SERVED WITH HOT COFFEE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 17. (Received May 18, at 11 a.m.) For a change cricket’s dismal story of “rain stopped play” gave way today to “snow stops golf and racing.” Cricket grounds escaped the snow, but at Worcester; despite the fact that extra sweaters were worn, players were so frozen that play, was stopped while hot coffee was served. Snow stopped play in the Dunlop golf tournament after most of the players had commenced their rounds. The morning scores were cancelled.
