Jarman, of Prenton, with 73 and 72, leads at the end of the second round. R. Burton, of Hooton, took 75 and 71, Cotton 147, C. Whitcombe 148, Green and King 149, R. Whitcombe 150. Other good scores included Cox, Compston, and Hodson with 151, Padgham 152 (including a 70—a course record), Busson 156, Allis and Easterbrook 166, Havers 158, E. Whitcombe, Nolan, Davies, and Lacey 159. Scores of 159 or better participate in the final two rounds to-morrow. Jarman is one of five golfing brothers. Burton is the present northern champion.
