WEATHER FORECAST
PASSING SHOWERS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern district —Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Malfmeon Bay:— Pressure is still high over Eastern Australia and the Western Tasman Sea, but rather low to the east of New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate to strong south-west winds. Some passing showers probable, but the weather will be mainly fair to cloudy. Tempera* tures moderate. Seas rough. OVERCAST WEEK-END.
Except for intermittent showers yesterday, the week-end was fine but overcast, the temperatures on both days being mild, though at night cold conditions were experienced. The temperatures for Saturday and Sunday respectively were:—Maximum 64.5 deg, minimum, 49.8 deg; maximum 64deg., Minimum 52.2 deg. Intermittent showers of a misty nature fell throughout this morning, but the temperatures were still mild, the south-west breeze being negligible in force. The shada reading at noon was 64deg, with a minimum of 52.2 deg. The barometer, was steady at 29.6 in. The rain gauga recorded a fall of .Coin up to 9 o'clock to-day.
