TRAFFIC CONTROL

BRITISH SPEED LIMIT NUMBER OF ACCIDENTS DECREASING (British Official Wireless.) Pres* Association —By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY. March 27. The Minister of Transport (Mr L. Hore-Belisha) stated in Parliament that the number of persons killed and injured on the roads, which showed a continuous decrease iu recent weeks, was likely to show a further fall for the first week in which the speed limit of thirty miles an hour in built-up areas had been in operation. No increase in traffic congestion had been reported in the London area or elsewhere. On the contrary, there was general agreement that traffic had proceeded more smoothly. The increase in the number of vehicles on the roads, so far as he was aware, had continued unabated.
