ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
PROVINCIAL MEETING OPENED The Otago track and field amateur athletic championships were decided at the Caledonian Ground this afternoon in sunny weather conditions, the rain ceasing before the meeting commenced. A slight wind from the Bay affected the performances somewhat. Although the tracks were on the slow side, the ground looked in excellent order. There was a good crowd present. The entries were representative of all the local clubs, and strong contingents of athletes were present from the Invercargill, St. Paul’s (Invercargill), and North Otago Clubs, while several of the country clubs were also represented.
