The result of the first test between England and New Zealand depends on the outcome of the last doubles match, which was not finished to-day owing to rain. The singles match unfinished on Friday was completed to-day, Pouller defeating Mrs Caldow. The progress totals are; — Singles.—England ' three rubbers (seven games, 288 points), New Zealand two rubbers (seven games, 249 points). New Zealand began to-day bv winning the first doubles, Hartnell and Mrs Corbet defeating Petley and Poulter. The second doubles between Mrs Caldow and Stratton and Du Pre and Wemyss was proceeding when it was interruped by rain. It will be completed on Monday.
