UNSETTLED—FURTHER RAIN The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* ern districts —Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— A depression covering the dominion, has become intense, and this morning is centred south of Banks Peninsula, Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly winds. Weather unsettled, with fur* ther rain and thunder in places; becoming cooler. Seas rough. LIGHT RAIN CONTINUES. Despite the continued light rain and overcast sky, the maximum temperature at noon to-day was less than 9deg below yesterday’s reading. To-day the thermometer registered a maximum of 58.9 deg and a minimum of 55deg, whilst up to noon yesterday the maximum was 6t.Bdeg and the minimum 58deg. For the tenth day since the beginning of the year rain was experienced in Dun* edin, and from 9. a.m. yesterday to noon to-day .18in were registered.
