PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

There was a large attendance at the opening meeting of Valley True Blue, when W.M. Bro. T. Turner presided. Visitors included W.G.M. Bro. Harvey and members of the Grand Executive, W.M. Bro. Weir and members of Triumph No. 9, P.M. Bro. Lindsay and members Of Loyal Excelsior, No. 41, W.Mist. Sister Morgan and members of Pride of Valley Ladies. The installing officer, W.G.M. Bro. Harvey, assisted by Grand Trustee Bro. Hellyer and G. Chap. Bro. Christie, installed the following officers : —W.M., Bro. D. Reid; 1.P.M., Bro. T. Turner; D.M., Bro. M. Campbell; chaplain, Bro. Smith; secretary, Bro. A. Hay; treasurer, Bro. H. Austin; S.E., Bro. N. Strachan; J.E., Bro. W. Muir; J.G., Bro. Henderson; 0.G., Bro. Rutherford ; juvenile superintendents—Bros. Sutherland, Madden, Drysdale, and Reid. W.G.M. Bro. Harvey congratulated the new officers, and also I.P.M. Bro. Turner on a successful year of office. Members of the Grand Executive also added their congratulations, which were suitably acknowledged. The Social Committee was elected as follows:—Bros. Reid, Davidson, Graves, Drysdale. and Campbell. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the visitors,, and was responded to by Bros. Lindsay, of No. 41, and Weir, of No. 9, and Sister Henderson, of Pride of Valley Ladies. During the evening a P.M.’s collar was presented to Bro. Graves by the W.G.M.. Bro. Harvey. At the opening meeting of Pride of Valley Ladies, Sister Morgan presided over a very good attendance of members. Visitors included Sister Matthewson, of Triumph No. 9, and Sister Robson, of Loyal Excelsior. The installing officers installed the followingW.Mist., Sister Henderson.; 1.P.M., Sister Morgan, D.M., Sister Cummings; chaplain, Sister Gardiner; see., Sister Yeoman; treas.. Sister Taylor; assist, sec., Sister Boswood; S.E., Sister Porter; J.E., Sister Pocklington; LG.. Sister Belsey; 0.G., Sister M'Kenzie; instructor, P.M. Bro. Zimmerman. After the ceremony the W.G.M., Bro. Harvey, congratulated the new W.Mist. and her officers, and wished them a very pleasant year of office. He also paid tribute to the services of I.P.M. Sister Morgan, who had accomplished much during her term of office. The D.G.M., Bro. Lindsay, installing officer, also added his congratulations, and gave-sound advice to the new officers. W.Mist. Sister Henderson suitably responded. There was a large attendance at the opening meeting of Loyal Excelsior, No. 41, W.M. Bro. Taylor presiding. Visitors included W.G.M. Bro. Harvey and his executive officers, W.Mist. Sister Henderson and members ol Pride of Valley Ladies. W.M. Bro. Reid, officers, and members of Valley True Blue, and S.E. Bro. Matthewson and members of Triumph No. 9. The following officers were installed by W.G.M. Bro. Harvey, assisted by G. Sec. Bio. Hay and G.T. Bro. Hellyer:—W.M.. Bro. Davis; 1.P.M,, Bro. Taylor; D.M., Bro. Barber; sec., Bro. Miiric; treas., Bro. T. Robson; chaplain, Bro. Christie; S.E., Bro. Morlancl; J.E., Bro. M'Goe; 1.G., Bro. Adam; 0.G., Bro. W. Robson. Alter the installation the W.G.M. congratulated the W.M., who had attained that office For the third time. Several members of the Executive Council added their congratulations and advice, the newly-elected officers suitably responding, The W.G.M. then presented a P.M.’s collar to Bro. James Lindsay, and made reference to his valuable services. Rro. Lindsay, in his reply, stated that his interests in the future would lie with the Juvenile Lodge. After lodge business had been concluded a pleasant social evening was spent.
