Cocktails havo brought comparafiiv* fame to a man -in England, who,, strangely enough, is practically te» total.' A short time ago Mr Peter Keenan was just a casual wine steward ah South Shields. Now he is the second best cocktail expert in the British Empire. He proved his- prowess at inventing and shaking cocktails in competition against the world’s best. As a result, he hopes to obtain a permanent position in London. Mr Keenan’s teetotal habits hav* kept his palate and sense of smell unimpaired. He also has the gift of analysing a cocktail' and naming ingredients —just by smelling it. There is romance, too, in his whirlwind success.He named the two cocktails which' carried him to fame after parts his fiancee played in the ‘ Desert Song ’ and ‘ Rose Marie.’
