ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY OF OTAGO
The last social of the year of ,the St. Andrew’s Society _ of Otago, was held on Wednesday night in the Wil- ■ son Hall, King street, when there was a large turnout of members and friends. The president (Mr D. Minnock) presided, and was accompanied;, on the platform by the patron of the society, the Rev. Hugh Graham, of Mosgiel. The social took the form of a children’s night. The ladies who were responsible for the gathering, deserve credit for the arrangements made. Miss Newey opened the , programme with a reading entitled ‘ The Holiday Trunk,’ and responded with an encore entitled ‘ The Ghost Story,’ Mr B. Dunbar sang ‘ Tell Mo To-night ’ and as an encore, ‘Asleep in the Deep.’ The Rev. Hugh Graham then told the children several humorous stories. A clever item was an' acrobatic dance by Miss Joyce Yicay. Items were alsb rendered by Miss Betty Daggar, Miss Katie Watson, Miss Sadie llill, Mr Jim Grant, Miss Margaret Law, Miss Newcastle, Miss Hoggan. Games were indulged in by the children. Before concluding the programme Mr Minupck, on behalf of the executive, wished the members and friends, the compliments of the season.
