FREAKS IN FLOWERS
There are few flowers that bloom .so prolifically as the marigold, and if ail were like some .plants growing in a Riverton resident’s garden floral det eoration of the home would be a simple matter. From the seed pod of several emerge seven or eight shoots each bearing a flower, the seed apparently having germinated in the pod. Apparently oddities of this nature are common this season, as a resident of South Invercargill has growing in his garden an arum lily that has produced two blooms on the one stem, tile stamen being absent on the upper flowers.
